I've waited a few days to comment on this one because it just punched me in the gut- in a good way, but still- damn.
I haven't read any of the Jake stuff since we did Endgame- it was so deep and dark and intense and when it was over, it was like I just needed to stand out in the sunlight and recover for a little while, ya know? Damn that was a hell of a storyline we pulled off, and reading it from more of an outside perspective, not having written him for awhile really made it hit hard.
We all want Elijah to move on and be happy, and let go what happened, but it was a deep and traumatic time- he loved Jake- it doesn't matter that Jake took that love and used it against him like a weapon- he still loved him, and he lost him, and that has to be something that still affects him, and I like that you're giving him that vulnerability- not just making it all sunshine and lollipops, but having it be something that still is inside him.
*gives Elijah and Karl coupons for therapy, hugs them both bunches*
Amazing log, Jess- and the end bit with Karl- letting himself seek solace and help again- not just being alone was what made it art. MWAH
