Hal shifted on the sofa, carefully keeping contact with Ben while moving him around and in front of him. He settled back into the corner with Ben mostly on his lap, his arms locked around the younger boy and clasping his wrists. From this position Ben couldn't cling to him, which he'd been doing for the last forty minutes, to the point where one of Hal's hands was all pins-and-needles.

There, much more comfortable. Hal smiled and kissed the top of Ben's head, turning his attention back to their favorite vid series now that he wasn't distracted by thoughts of his left hand turning purple and rotting off the end of his arm.

See, I love this. Now, o' course there's a bias there, but . . . I love how you manage to get so many souls into the one room and they all get their moment, their little piece in without it getting confusing.

And naturally it was all cute and stuff and Johnny 'beaming' is never a bad thing. *snuzzles him*

I like using lots of people; it makes the environment seem a bit more real somehow. Of course, it plays hell with my NPC list, but hey, that's the price we pay for writing this stuff, yeah? ;)

No, we don't like Linus, do we? Poor Linus. [sigh]

Hal's not so much broken as he is trapped. :/ If Ben somehow fell off the face of the planet, Hal would be in pretty good shape. Of course, occasionally wishing that would happen just gives the poor kid that much more to feel guilty about.... :(
