Lots of good stuff in here. I'm still aching for Marton, and I think I'm going to be for quite a while. :(
I'm glad he has a handle on the succession thing, though, at least to the point of ensuring that Jake will never enter the picture no matter what. Of course, it would probably be a lot safer for the other boys if Jake knew that. But then again, given Jake's mindset, maybe not. [sigh]
I don't think Jake knowing he's not in line would be a good thing... right now it's the only thing keeping him in line- the remote possibility that he can convince Marton to make it him. 'Course, this is skipping the basic fact that he is Dnaran and not Caleran, but I think we've already established that Jake Logic and Palace!Universe logic are not one and the same...
