(this occurs sometime after Harry and Orlando talk about the calender)
Jake walked down the hall to Elijah's room, grinning from ear to ear with what he was about to show Elijah. He'd moved up to Royal after the email from his father, but the lunch date had gotten pushed back, and over a week later, he was still upstairs, and Elijah still couldn't get there. Finally, Jake had had a letter sent to his father, asking about the meal plan, as well as about Elijah's access.
Jake and Marton wouldn't be meeting for lunch until the next day, but the contents of the letter Jake held in his hand were making him grin from ear to ear. Jake reached Elijah's door, and unconsciously reached up and knocked on the door. He furrowed his brow - still not sure why he was doing that, but his grin came back in full force when the door opened.
Elijah looked around when he heard a knock. He walked to the door and pulled it open, his breath catching in his throat when he saw Jake's beautiful face smiling at him. "Hey!" He grabbed Jake's arm and pulled him into the room. "I missed you."
Jake grinned as Elijah hauled him into his room, never even thinking about what he'd do if anyone else tried something like that on him. "Missed you too, blue eyes." Jake leaned in and gave Elijah a hard, thorough kiss. Pulling away, he grinned again. "I have something you're gonna like."
Elijah tried to follow Jake's mouth as he pulled away, sighing a small groan and running the tip of his tongue over his lip. The taste of the man drove him wild, I could crawl into his skin and live there, he thought. Jake's words suddenly registered and he smiled asking, "Oh! A present? What?" Elijah couldn’t believe that Jake had something for him.
Jake held out the envelope he'd been carrying in his hand, holding it off to the side, just out of Elijah's reach. "Well, do you want me to tell you, or do you want to see?" He teased.
Elijah laughed and playfully reached for the envelope a few times. Finally turning and throwing his arms around the larger man he stood up on his toes and rubbed his cheek across Jake's chest, finding the nub of a nipple under the fabric and mouthing it. Releasing the peaked flesh with a growl Elijah said, "Um - tell me. I want to hear your voice. You know, you could just read the dictionary and I'd kill to just be able to sit and listen to you."
Jake smiled, and tapped Elijah on the nose. "You quit that, or I'll forget all about this and believe me - this is something you really will want. This,” Jake said, indicating the envelope, "Is a letter from my father." Jake paused, curious to see how crazy he can make Elijah by drawing this out a little longer.
"Your Father?" Elijah asked, thoroughly confused. "What is it? Don't tease. Please." He cocked his head and smiled up at Jake, tightening his arms a bit and leaning up blowing a gust of warm breath across the other man's neck. "Plleeeaaseeee."
Jake shuddered at the feel of Elijah's breath across his neck. "Who's the tease now, huh? Fine. I told him about you in an email I sent earlier- when I told him that I wanted to take the room he offered me up on Royal. Do you remember me telling you I was having a hard time getting a hold of him... that he and I were supposed to have lunch and we hadn't been able to set it up?"
Elijah smiled at Jake’s reaction and settled back a bit, gulping when Jake said that he had mentioned Elijah to the King.
"I remember, and?" he asked quietly, waiting to hear what Jake said.
"Well, I wrote him see if he'd gotten any less busy so we could do the lunch meeting, and to remind him of what I'd said about you, and today he sent me a letter to confirm that he and I would be meeting tomorrow, and this envelope, which holds in it an order to have your bracelets altered so you can come up to Royal." Jake looked at Elijah, waiting for the news to sink in.
Elijah dropped his arms and took a step back, staring at Jake. "But - royal? I -uh - I - wow."
He stepped backwards until he felt the bed against his legs. Sitting he looked down at his hands clasped in his lap, Elijah knew he wasn’t worth Jake, wasn’t worth even the man’s attention, but to know that the prince had mentioned him to his father, and had gotten permission for Elijah to go up to Royal, it almost made Elijah dizzy. He swallowed and with a concentrated effort determinedly pushed the thought of Angel out of where she was trying to creep into his mind. Now was not the time to remember her, or his promise to her.
"Jake, you're a really important person, a prince. I mean, you're honest to goodness royalty for fucks sake, and I'm - well I'm just me." He looked up at Jake saying, "You did that? Asked your father? Wow. How do I get the bracelets changed?" He stood suddenly. "Does this mean I can come up there and we can fuck?" He asked with a smile, almost blushing t his own words.
"I'm royal, and you're mine. I wanted you up there, and I asked my father if he could arrange it for me. He wanted to meet you too, but it was taking too long. I reminded him that you worked for Harry, so maybe that helped. About time that prick was good for something, huh?" Jake's eyes flickered with anger as he mentioned Harry, but it passed as he looked at Elijah's face. "Yeah, it means you can come up there and we can fuck. Not having to be down here- " Jake looked around, wrinkling his nose, "Would be a big plus."
"I know it's been hard on you, having to be down here. You deserve so much better, I know you did it for me and believe me - I'll do everything I can to find a way to thank you." Elijah took a step and pressed himself into Jake, wrapping his arms around him and kissing the skin showing at the throat of his shirt. "Tell me how to get the bracelets changed and as soon as I can I'll show you just how thankful I am. Okay?"
Jake relaxed, holding Elijah close, then laughed at himself. "I have no idea where to change the bracelets, Elijah. You'll have to find someone and ask. Take this with you." He said, handing the paper over. "And once you've gotten all that squared away, I'll come find you and take you up with me... show you the way and all. Now git - the sooner you're gone, the sooner you're back, and we can both go up to where we both deserve to be."
Jake smiled, watching Elijah scurry out of the room, with one thought on his mind. Well... almost where we deserve to be... one more level up to go...
Jake walked down the hall to Elijah's room, grinning from ear to ear with what he was about to show Elijah.
