Jonny had arrived a half hour early to give himself enough time to find his way to the pub. Miranda's directions had been very clear and so at 3:50, Jonny slides into a booth at the pub. He thinks he'll be able to pick Harry out of the crowd, but even so he'd asked the bartender to point Harry out to him.

Harry strolled into the bar just past four, shocked that he's managed to be on time. He looks around, and recognizes Jonny sitting at a booth. Grinning, he puts his drink order in at the bar, and walks over to Jonny. Sliding into the booth, he extends his hand across the table. "Harry Sinclair. Pleased to meet you."

Jonny stands up and shakes Harry's hand. "Jonny Lee Miller." He grins, attempting to look charming. "How are you doing?"

Harry waves Jonny back into his seat and settles back. "I'm good. I'll be even better once the beer gets here, but other than that, I'm aces. How about you? Have any trouble finding the place?"

"No, everything was fine." Jonny's fingers nervously stroke the handle of the mug in front of him. "Um."

Harry leans in towards Jonny. "There isn't any pressure here, Jonny. Nobody is doing this job, and from talking to you already, I see no reason why it shouldn't be you. I'd just like to get to know you a little before I throw you at Sean, that's all." Harry looks up at the waiter and smiles as his beer is placed in front of him. He adds an order of wings, and looks at Jonny. "Anything you want? It's on Palace."

"Wings, too, please." Jonny says and then sits back to think before answering Harry. He supposed Harry looked over his references or they wouldn't be having this talk, but he doesn't think it's going to be about Jonny's experience. It seems more like a way to test him out, see how he reacts. Jonny can live with that. But something Harry says makes him freeze. "Sean? The Sean?"

Harry grins at Jonny. "The one and only! Did I not mention that before?" Harry takes a long sip of his beer. "Running Palace is Sean's job, and PR for Palace would fall under the general sphere of his influence. Actually, Liv has been taking on a lot of Sean's PR work, so you'd probably be working a lot with her, but it all ends up on Sean's desk in the end."

"Wow," Jonny says, gulping down his beer. "Wow. So, um, what would a job in PR mean, exactly? What sort of duties would that be?"

Harry wrinkles his nose a little, then brightens as the food arrives. He loves the speed of service at this place- one of the reasons he comes here as often as he does. He thinks while he inhales his first few wings, then answers.

"I'm not sure what the actual job will entail- as far as I've been able to see, they've been kind of making things up as they go along. They need someone to organize them, that's for damned sure. Keep track of upcoming events, promotions, get the Palace name out there... all that sort of shite. Take the load off of Sean and Liv- they both see clients pretty regularly, and they are ending up spending way too much time in admin." Harry picks up another wing. "Make sense?"

"Yes." It makes a lot of sense, actually. But what Jonny doesn't understand is why they're offering a job that big to someone with no experience with Palace at all. "Organize promotional events, like the calendar? Make contact with all the right people and make sure everything goes smoothly? That sort of organization?" If so, then Jonny can do that. It's nothing he hasn't been doing for years.

Harry nods at Jonny. "Yep, all that sort of thing. Organization is going to be a big part of it- that and keeping track of when things are happening, making sure the right people are in the right places at the right time. And, like I said, it hasn't been done in a terribly organized way up until now. Might take a fair bit of work to get things set up the way you want them. Still interested?" Harry leans back a little to look at Jonny, finishing off the last of his wings.

"Hell yes." Riding herd on servitors and merchants is nothing compared to what Jonny used to do. "Any reason you're offering it to me? You must have a thousand people looking for jobs in Palace a day."

Harry grins. He really likes this kid. "You're ballsy and polite at the same time. These are both skills that are important to have for PR. You sought me out yourself, which caught my attention, and I think you'll match well with Sean and Liv. That enough reasons, or should I see if I can make you blush?" Harry downs the last of his beer and looks at Jonny again. "As far as I'm concerned, you've got the job. Provisionally of course, but it's yours if you want it."

"It's not that difficult to make me blush," Jonny admits. Ballsy and polite. He thinks he likes that. "What sort of provisions would I be working with? I assume a trial period of sorts to make sure I'm not going to foul up completely. What else?"

Harry pulls a scrap of paper out of his pocket and writes down two names and access codes. He pushes the paper towards Jonny. "Those codes will allow you to email Sean and Liv in order to set things up. Whatever trial period they decide on is between you guys. Once you're in the door, my responsibility stops." Harry leans back again. "Anything you want to ask me? Get the dirt on anyone, any questions at all? I've got a few minutes still."

It's all going so fast. Not that Jonny's complaining. At all. All his life he's wanted to work in Palace and now it seems like he'll finally get his chance. "Why are you so confident?" he asks finally. "I mean, you don't even know me."

Harry looks at Jonny curiously. He didn't think it was that quickly... this is how he always works. "I dunno. It's how I work. First impressions mean a lot, and I usually go with my instincts." He smirks a little bit. "Besides, you're a freeman, and if you suck, we'll just pitch your ass right back out the door." He gives Jonny a wink to let him know that he's just playing with him.

Jonny grins. "Yes, you could. And I bet I'd bounce really well." But he's more than confident that they won't toss him. It's not arrogance. He's worked hard to get as good as he is, and he's proud of it. "What kind of arrangements would there be? Would I live in Palace? The lower levels, I mean, nothing higher, of course, of course. Nothing like that." Jonny bites his tongue before he starts rambling. "Right. And food, I suppose. Cafeteria?"

"Talk to Miranda at the desk and tell her you'll be working in admin and need a room. She'll probably set you up in lower levels, but it'll depend on what's available. The cafeteria is around and always open, but if you want a room with kitchen facilities they do exist, so you can ask for one." Harry pauses and thinks for a moment. What other information does he need to tell Jonny. "Get a com from Miranda while you're asking her about a room, then it's already set to all the Palace information, maps and all that. Any other questions? Who not to piss off, who's fucking who? Now's the time, mate." Harry wiggles his eyebrows at Jonny.

Harry seems to be pushing him to ask, so he'll take the bait. "Alright, I'm game. Who shouldn't I piss off, who's fucking who, and who should I seek out for beer and films?"

"Beer and films and footie, if you're interested, you see me or Eric. Locked relationships are Prince Craig and David, Karl and Viggo, and Prince Orlando and myself. Anyone else is generally a free agent, and will tell you to fuck off if they aren't interested. If you ever run into a guy named Travis, have an answer ready when he asks you what you want from him- you won't be sorry. And above anything else, if you want your life to be peaceful and smooth don't ever piss off Billy. Never mess with the guy in charge of supplies. And you're welcome to sign up as a client for any libertine in the building, but if you do it that way, you pay, same as any other client. Any relationships that happen off hours are different, and non of anyone's business." Harry takes a breath. "Did I miss anything?"

"Um." Jonny's still stuck on the first bit. "You're in a relationship with a Prince?" Wow. So he was right that Harry had contacts at Palace. He'd just been wrong about what kinds. "Clients, right, figured that, but there's no way I can afford it. Wouldn't think of bothering someone in charge of acquisitions. Been in that position too many times." He swallows. Fuck, Jonny, this is real. You're two steps away from working in Palace. He isn't sure how he managed to not freak out until now, but he holds tightly onto his control. Losing his cool would probably have Harry take away the offer in a blink. "Don't think you missed anything, no. Wait. How do I get around, with the doors and such?"

"Talk to Miranda about access too. You'll be issued a card or bracelet- the bracelets won't be locked, of course, but they will get you into the area's you need to access. And yes, I've been with Orlando for awhile now." Harry looks at Jonny, who seemed a little surprised to hear that information. "Surprised you didn't know- we're not exactly what anyone would call subtle. The royals, especially the princes, are always around, so you'll need to get used to turning around and seeing them. Stick to formal address until they tell you otherwise, but don't bother with any bowing or scraping. And Orlando works as Sean's agent, so you may see him around more than the others."

"Uh. Right." Jonny files away the information for later. He doesn't honestly expect to encounter any royals. Definitely not a part of that social stratum. And it still hasn't sunk in that he might see Sean. After all, he's going to be working PR. His only contact will probably be through the com. As for all the other stuff, he doesn't mind the thought of wearing a bracelet. Jonny's always been one for odd jewelry. Jewelry with a purpose is probably a step up. "Anything else I should know about what to do, not to do?"

"Not really. No fun if you know everything up front. And really, don't worry about the royals. They're not that intimidating, especially one the whole awkward first meeting thing is over. I'll even help you out: Orlando, Craig, Christian, Anna. Those are the four here right now, and anyone gives you one of those names, chances are you're talking to Royalty. And that's a lot more warning than most people get." Harry's com sounds mid-sentence and he gets it out while finishing his statement. "Sorry, looks like I've gotta go. Sean's looking to bet on football, and I can't pass up the chance to see his team get their arses beat." Harry stands up and holds out his hand." Jonny Lee Miller, it's been a pleasure. Welcome to Palace."

Jonny stands as well and takes Harry's hand. "Thank you, sir. I hope I won't let you down."

Harry gives Jonny a shit eating grin. "You won't. I have faith in my ability to pick a winner." Harry gives Jonny's hand one last firm shake, gives him a pat on the shoulder, and strolls out of the pub.
