Dave couldn't sleep. Rolling from one side to the other he still missed a warm body beside him. He lit the bedside lamp. His room looked foreign to him. There was nothing familiar, no personal things.

Umm, right, what m_g said. [sigh] I really just want to grab both the guys by the scruffs of their necks and bash their heads together. Maybe jar a few braincells loose, you know?

Great story, though, seriously. I'm ticked off at both of them, but I care what's happening to them and that's 'cause you're doing a good job writing them. :)
