Jake/Travis. WARNING- see disclaimer.

Jake stepped into the lift and pushed the button, moved into the corner and leaned against the wall, his head buried in a book. He wanted to finish it before he returned it to the library, but he was only a few pages from the end, and he wanted the new book that had come in on order for him, and he hated having more then one book on the go at once.

Travis shook his head as he looked over the paperwork he needed to starting riding one of the Palace horses. Insurance, waivers, capability tests, most of which wouldn't be needed if he had his own. Thinking even more seriously about saving up to buy a horse, he pushed the button for the lift. Still looking down at the papers, he took a step forward as he heard the doors open when something made his head snap up.

I'm not sure what to add, here. I already want to smack Jake with my newspaper, and drown him in Raid, the repulsive little cockroach. Realizing just what he's been doing to Travis for however many years it's been is just another bucket of sand on the dune. I mean, it's awful and makes me hate him, but I think my hate-meter is close to the top already, you know? :(

Someone definitely needs to squish Jake, and not only for Travis's sake. [wince]

Oh man on so many levels this story just squicked me out. I really wasn't sure what had gone on with Travis but this reads like child abuse - authority figure rapes someone and the poor abused kid doesn't tell anyone because they don't think they have the right to.

And the fact that Jake doesn't even need to skim him anymore just made it even worse. Like long term abuse where the victim just gives over because they've given up fighting.

But then when Travis jumps out at the last minute - I wanted to cheer! Even though he is terrified and hurting now, he saved himself and that is a miracle with rat bastard Jake.

And while wanting to cheer all the sudden I think of poor Elijah maybe waiting at home and now Jake is pissed off. It almost won't matter what Elijah does, Jake will find a way to make it out as wrong so he can spend his anger on Lij.

*runs and hides Elijah away for a week, throws Jake a stress ball to shred, puts warnings out to anyone with small pets that psycho boy may be looking for something to punish*

Really good story all around.
