Polite Intercourse
Johnny went down to dinner that night -- a few minutes early so he wouldn't have to walk across the room with everyone staring at him. Assuming they felt like staring at him, which they might or might not, but why take chances? He was embarassed enough about the argument and had felt awkward around Adrian since that morning. He'd never been particularly brave and didn't feel like testing his courage right at that moment.

Oh Angie...
This is so incredible. Such pain and healing and damn - I am going to snuzzle Liam...
Beautiful job darlin' just beautiful...
Re: Comment
I'm glad you enjoyed it, as always. :D It's funny that with so much plotting and planning and fitting and figuring going into this plotline, what really stands out is the emotions. It's like I work out the basic framework of actions and occurrences with Jay and Raven, and the characters react to it all. Their feelings are their own, and sometimes they won't even do what I tell them, but instead go dashing off in some weird direction with me following along as best I can. It's frustrating at times, but the result is pleasing so I don't fight them too much. [rueful smile]
Thanks!
Angie
Re: Comment
And I love this:
Liam had quietly insisted that everyone come to dinner, washed and dressed in fresh clothing, and adhere to proper manners while eating and conversing. When challenged the first evening -- by Linus, of course -- Liam had explained that they'd all be more comfortable interacting with the rest of the world if they knew how to behave properly. "Think of it as camouflage," he'd said. "You won't always use it, but you'll feel better if it's available when you need it."
It is very close to the reasoning that my Gran'Pa gave for learning manners, basically learning anything - always be prepared, always...
And yes, the pups tend to scamper about of their own accord... *swats at them*
I really do love Johnny's posts from the road, very good.
Re: Comment
Your Gran'Pa sounds like a pretty smart guy. :) I wish someone had explained it like that to me when I was a kid. I thought manners were stupid until I was an adult. [duck] Now I read Miss Manners for recreation, and I'm amazed how basic and practical 95% of it is. LOL!
Thanks again for the great comments, love! Mwah!
