Email Private Locked to Sean:
Sean,
Craig and I wanted to thank you for the truly unique and beautiful gift you sent. It means more than words can possibly say.
Again, thank you for your friendship, and your thoughtfulness.
Love,
Craig and David
See the couple’s reaction to the gift here:
David answered the door and signed for the package the courier handed to him-- a package from Sean, to himself and Craig. "Craig, we got something from Sean," David said walking into the bedroom where Craig was just pulling on a shirt. "You want to open it with me?"
Craig immediately made his way across the room, his eyes lighting up at the prospect of a gift. Especially after Harry's little surprise, which they had both enjoyed immensley, many times, in fact. Craig reached for the box, attempting to grab it and shake it like he shook every other unopened package he'd gotten his hands on. "Bet it's something good...yeah, hurry, let's open it."
David grinned at him, and reached over to tug off the tape from the outter paper wrap. He was a little shocked when it revealed a dark royal blue velvet box. His eyes flickered up to Craig’s; this was a MUCH different gift than what Harry had sent. No less or more thoughtful, just much different type. "You want the honors?" David asked softly.
Craig reached out and gently wrapped his hands around the soft velvet. Lifting the cover, his eyes grew wide as he removed the exquisite silver object from it's resting place. Tracing his fingers over the engravings, he leaned up against David, offering his lover a better view. "Gods, David. Look at this. It's....breathtaking. Somehow, I knew Sean would chose something like this."
David smiled at Craig, "Yeah, it is," he said touching the raised numbers and letters with his fingertips, "Sean has always had classic taste, but the meaning behind it." David smiles wider, "That means the most I think."
Craig looked up at David. "What does it mean?" He rubbed his fingers across the smooth stones. "And what are these exactly?"
David sat down on the bed tugging the blue satin ribbon from around the item. "It's a perpetual calendar, basically he's saying without words that our marriage will last forever," David explains, "These are stones, they mark the day and the month. See he set them for the date of our engagement?"
David runs his hand over the surface again, "You don't see these much anymore, too much technology these days. Basically it's a calendar that is capable of being used from now until the end of time."
Craig smiled. Leave it to Sean to think of something like this. "For the first time in a long while, I don't know what to say," he whispered, unable to take his eyes off the gift. "It's beautiful. And ... it's just....perfect. I don't even have the words to tell him how much this means."
David reached out and pulled Craig close wrapping his arms around him, "I know what you mean. Thank you just seems a little bland doesn't it?" he said grinning slightly. "He's right though, I told you forever and I meant it. We'll think of some way to thank him." David kissed Craig's forehead softly feeling as if his life could not possibly get any better than it was now.
Craig rested his head on his lover's chest and smiled. "I love that word, you know - Forever. It sounds so good on your lips." His hand cradled the calendar between them. "This is perfect. Just like our future." Sighing contentedly, he snuggled closer to David and closed his eyes.
"I'll send Sean a special thanks from us, yeah?" David asked softly.
Craig leaned up and kissed David softly on the lips. "Yeah. Thanks, sweetheart. Let him know how much it means. To both of us."
"I will," David answered returning the kiss and laying the gift aside pulling Craig back onto the bed with him. He still had plenty of time before he had to go to work.
